On Sunday 6th July,
Zara and Friends.com operated Run for their Lives,
a 5km fun run which started from our home Wrinstone
House, Wenvoe. Mother Nature gave us a fabulous
hour gap of sunshine during a weekend of awful British
weather, in which time we raised over £6,200
for the named charity.
Over 100 people turned up to support the cause.
After the run we made our way through 120 hotdogs,
80 burgers, 200 cans of lager and 50 cans of pop!
Many
people donated through our Just Giving page.
The beneficiary for the day was Bobath Childrens
Therapy Centre Wales in Cardiff. The centre offers
specialist physiotherapy to kids like Zara providing
them with much needed relief from the difficulties
caused by cerebral palsy. Zara improves in leaps
and bounds with each therapy block, and the kids
and the centre need your help as well as ours. Using
this online sponsorship, they will receive your
money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra
28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost
to you. You can still donate on line should you
wish.
